When people visit Australia, Canberra, the nation’s capital city, isn’t necessarily high on their list. I personally hadn’t visited since the mandatory high school tours, but I decided to visit some friends there for the weekend and it ended up being a really great weekend trip!
Louisa and I drove down from Sydney to Canberra on Friday evening and it took approximately 3.5 hours.
We started the night off at Hippo Co for a couple of cocktails and then Kokomo’s where I had a mango weis cocktail (yum!) and we were just dancing.
The next morning, I met up with Pri for brunch. We went to Morning Glory where the food was fab and the service equally as good.
Afterwards, Loui and I cycled around the Lake, visited the National Gallery of Australia (and saw Kasuma’s exhibition) and then went to Floriade. The flowers were in full bloom which was lovely to see especially since I haven’t been to Floriade since I was in primary school! We also chilled by at the Yacht Club where Loui’s cousin was gigging.
In the evening, Loui had a small house gathering then we went out to Assembly and Hopscotch. It was a fun night!
The next day, we headed to Teddy Picker’s for brunch/lunch. Sarah recently bought a pup, Panda, and she was the cutest thing! I enjoyed the chicken soba noodles and we enjoyed being out in the sun.
Canberra is such a lovely, underrated city and I’m so glad I was able to come back here after so many years and it was great to catch up with old friends!
