York is around 2.5 hours by train from London and although we only spent a day here, it was great to walk around, soak up the city and eat good food!
We started off at Betty’s for breakfast and had their famous rosti and fondant fancies, walked around the Shambles, saw the beautiful York Minster and walked around the city walls. As it was raining, we sat in a cosy pub and had a drink before heading to lunch at Mr P’s Curious Tavern which had amazing food. Afterwards, we slowly strolled back to the station.
I highly recommend either doing a day trip from London or staying a night for a weekend to explore more of what York and the surrounding area has to offer!
