Guide to Hiking Tre Cime Di Lavaredo

Tre Cime Di Lavaredo are three distinctive peaks in the Dolomites. The hike is a 10km loop which offers beautiful scenery and any one with relative fitness can do this.

I was based in Cortina d’Ampezzo and doing this hike from there without a car was easy. You get the 031 bus from Cortina d’Ampezzo to Misurina (cost €3.50) then the 030 bus from Misurina to Rifugio Auronzo (cost €4.00). The total cost for transportation was €15.

If you time the buses right, you won’t need to wait at Misurina and get straight on the 031 bus to Rifugio Auronzo. I was using the Moovit app which I thought was super helpful to get correct bus timetables and routes. I also used the Sudtirol Mobil website to find different routes and get around the whole Sudtirol area.

I also noticed that lots of people get on the bus at this point as it costs €30 to bring your car to the car park, in comparison to €4 bus cost.

You will be dropped off at the car park and head towards the .

Total distance covered = 10km
Total time = approx. 2.5 hours including breaks

I suggest walking in an anti-clockwise direction so you have the peaks to the left hand side.

This hike is suitable for all abilities and the loop was a great way to see the whole area!

Afterwards, you can catch the 031 bus back to Misurina, relax a little around the lake and grab some food then get the 030 bus back to Cortina d’Ampezzo.
